Nimeh Najjar, MD

Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine

Founder, Najjar MD Advanced Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine

Dr. Nimeh Najjar is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care physician and Founder of Najjar MD Advanced Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine. She brings more than a decade of experience caring for patients with both common and highly complex pulmonary conditions, with a commitment to providing advanced, evidence-based medicine in a personalized and accessible setting.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Najjar spent much of her career in academic medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, where she served as an Assistant Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine and Associate Program Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.

Her clinical expertise includes pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease (ILD), sarcoidosis, asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, chronic cough, pulmonary nodules, pleural disease, pulmonary embolism, and sleep-disordered breathing. She also served as Co-Director of a regional Pulmonary Hypertension Clinical Program, caring for patients with complex pulmonary vascular disease and managing advanced therapies, including intravenous prostacyclin therapy in critically ill patients.

Dr. Najjar has extensive experience in advanced pulmonary procedures, including bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), transbronchial and endobronchial biopsies, pleural procedures, medical thoracoscopy/pleuroscopy, and right heart catheterization.

Education has also been an important part of her career. As Associate Program Director, Dr. Najjar helped train pulmonary and critical care fellows while teaching residents, delivering fellowship lectures, and presenting Grand Rounds on complex pulmonary and critical care topics.

After years of practicing and teaching medicine while caring for diverse and underserved patient populations, Dr. Najjar founded Najjar MD Advanced Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine to bring the clinical depth and rigor of academic medicine into a more personal setting.

Her philosophy is simple: patients should never have to choose between advanced medicine and individualized care. She believes in listening carefully, explaining clearly, and using the best available evidence to develop a thoughtful treatment plan tailored to each patient.
